On My Birthday

On My Birthday

In the new year,

I met some new persons

Wishing me "Happy Birthday"

With my best friend.

First came a beautiful lady

Adorned with many colourful flowers,

Keeping a smile on her face,

Wished me.

But...after some moment cried silently

Remembering all her past days.

I asked, "who are you? "

She said, "I am peace. "

"I'll help you sans violence, sans jealousy. "

"Will you be my friend forever? "

"No one wants my company for an hour".

Then I saw a young man

With sparkling eyes and a dazzling face.

Bedecked with stars,

He expressed his lovely wishes.

While I was in deep thought,

The earth felt the touch of divine feet.

I was surprised to hear

The voice of an innocent child.

Breaking my daydream,

Asked the child,

"Will you make me your guide? "

I laughed.

What!

Can be a child my guide?

Just then,

I discovered two gift packs in its hand.

Those were nothing,

But meeting and departure;

And with these feelings,

The child wished me,

"Happy new year".

Among my new friends,

I thought, "where is my best friend? "

Not yet come.

Just then,

I saw someone with lots of gifts,

 smile on face,

Love in eyes,

Books in hands.

Sans violence,

Sans feign,

Sans jealousy,

He wished me a bright future.

On my birthday in the new year.

I opened my eyes,

Looked at the world,

Upon my honour;

Promised to make friendship

With all I met in the new world.

On my heart and soul,

Professed my love

To my best friend.

Oh!

He is none,

But my dear God.
