Oh Life! What’s In You For Me?
Oh Life! What’s In You For Me?
Sitting on a couch in a windy dusky night I asked life; What’s in you for me?
You have been cruel to few and blessing to many, When will you open the box for me?
You subtly make a change with a blink of an eye, And make someone’s pride stand on a knee,
Tell me o-life, will it be a surprise or a terrible shock for me!
Sitting on a couch in a windy dusky night I again asked life; What’s in you for me?
You can turn a king to slave and a coward to brave, In a moment you are a thunder and then a buzz of a bee;
You delude people to see a boon as a conspiracy, and so I plead you to tell me what’s in you for me?
The ubiquitous silence of that night answered all my queries
It was life’s way of hiding all the pleasures and miseries.
It makes you believe that your future is uncertain, and rejects your request to unveil the curtain.
It is what happens to you when you wonder what’s happening,
That is it’s beauty when you try to find its meaning.
As I closed my eyes to comprehend the unfathomable sea,
Life imitated my voice and asked back- Tell me boy, what’s in you for me?
