Expectations

The world is coming apart at the seams,

All struggling to live up to the expectations of others,

 Tending to make decisions on how others expect us to perform,

As it became a natural part of life,

Glancing upon myself in the mirror,

Pre-eminence swaps to every ticker,

So as the hard by-one,

I don’t take a shine to what I discern in front of me,

Cognate to the grizzle-senile road,

Vitiating its weary wanderer,

Pinning my hopes to ameliorate all my fractures,

Pie in the sky got effaced,

Ambition got seethe into effluvium,

Frolicsome is the vehemence,

Whose expectations are smashed,

As entity crops up with expectancy,

And terminates with lament,

The captious who don’t abide by their own yardstick,

Have the fanciful-starry eyed expectations of us,

So, don’t hang the hat for the expectations of others,

Ignore people’s actions and learn acceptance,

Taking the road of least resistance,

Because problem arises when too much weight-

Weight is placed on others lofty expectations,

As they are temporary who’ll soon run out of shine,

Reside for yourself, for your dreams and happiness,

Becoming the Everest to people’s condescending remarks,

Becoming inspirational than the captious hollow rules,

Flow like a stream of light,

Because expectations are not an accurate gauze-

Of what is right-unerring for you,

It is the premeditated resentments,

It isn’t fancy or pristine,

Or dressed in gold paper, silk, or lace.
