My Teacher
My Teacher
If it wasn't for you I'd be miles away from progress
Or would sink and drown in the sea of depression
Would have lived a crippled all my life
I would have sung love songs and got drunk
Lie in shame and pain for years
And be buried in my own trap
Would have strummed my guitar of sweet melody
With the harmony of distorted emotions
Running wild in my mind of pain stricken bitterness
Trembling hands ready to choke him to death
But life my teacher I picked up the pieces of my life
Turned and allowed you to take me out of the storms of life
