My Music's My Friend
My Music's My Friend
Man...
What the hell is going on
in people's minds today?
As if we don't have enough
to legitimately hate?
I'm not going to wait, to
try to set some things straight.
This world I see today has
been flipped upside down.
Creating needless enemies
by throwing hateful words around.
Poetic words absurdly used
like daggers to the heart.
Keeping up the chain of abuse
that tear our lives apart.
We need to start a new way
to get our grievances off our chest.
Quit selling out your talent to
promote who can talk shit the best.
I'm intrigued by the battle,
Don't get me wrong.
It's improvisational magic.
I gotta challenge your talent,
Can you write a song,
That doesn't end so tragic?
To be a good lyricist, one must
observe the outcome of their words.
Fillers are great, but I'm getting irate,
As of late, by theses keyboard warriors.
I'm a creator. No imitating and
parroting the same Ole speal.
They're in a theatre. They're actors
making a genrè that's just not real.
When did this music become like
the fake act put on by the WWF?
It might be news to you. Some of
them choose to be both blind and deaf.
Can't hear the truth and can't see
that our youth are following this
ignorant trend.
This verbal abuse is another
excuse for division...
When does it end?
I'm Starting A Whole New Trend.
My Words Are My Wisdom.
My Music's My Friend.
I say, It's never too late,
to turn this thing around.
A dedicated life gaurd doesn't
let his fellow human drown.
Prophetic words, that stir the
nerves, and go right to the heart.
Reaching out into this ruse
that keeps us all apart.
Every day's a new day, to
make a change and be our best.
Until we get this message out,
there is no time to rest.
I won't flee from a battle,
My words are strong.
I won't feed into your bullshit.
Put my name on the ballet,
then move along while I
teach you how to righteously spit.
To be a good wordsmith, you have
to drift between poetic wit and
Imagination.
Most M.C.'s don't have a fifth of
what it takes for celebration.
I'm an elator. I'm like an elevator
that's only going up.
No imitators. You take the stairs,
and when you finally catch up,
you'll see me erupt.
If you refuse it, you'll lose to this
movement. My lyrics are B A D.
See how I choose to use words
like a fuse, to bring some life back
to this flat lining industry.
Can't see the proof, that it's
hurting our youth by the moral
and ethical code that you bend.
I'm not here to goof, or get caught
under hoof of the donkey's that
end up as pretendafriends.
I'm Starting A Whole New Trend.
My Words Are My Wisdom.
My Music's My Friend.
