My Flight - Phoenix

My Flight - Phoenix

My source of inspiration in life is the mystical bird, Fawkes, Phoenix in Harry Potter. I derive the inspiration from the way it dies and then rises again from its own ashes. It symbolizes Sun, time and after-life.

There is a shift in the air, I am ready to soar,

Higher and wider than ever before.

At my audacity they frowned, how can a bird think thus?

With mere wings and flight, what is such a fuss?

So they burnt me, they burnt me in fire sore,

Denying me my flight in blood bath and gore.

So I started to drown in my darkness and pain.

There was no reason to their benefit joy or gain.

They looked and t

hey laughed at the death of me,

A Phoenix awakens, little did they see.

Writhing groaning and scrunching my eyes,

In my fear I found how courage flies.

Yet from ashes, I rose my slumber seizing,

In the journey above my heartache easing.

The symbol of immortality, shimmering and radiating,

Harbinger of renewal and resurrection, illuminating.

Blue eyes glittering like a sapphire,

The clap of wings blowing a zephyr.

Reigning over the birds with feminine grace,

A new era of goodwill and prosperity, about to embrace.

Now my time has come to shine and rise

Exalting the song with the sunrise...
