Modern Don Quixotes..

Knights galloping around in shining armour,

Just like Don Quixote of La Mancha, my dear,

Searching for danger, hither and thither,

Or making it up from anything useless as a feather. 

Sunglasses have replaced today's armour,

Wearing even at night, to impress the other gender.

Roaming around deserted parks, mimicking Michael Jackson,

With music blaring unpleasantly from their father-bought I-phone.

Trying to impress every lone female with a one-liner,

Failed to recognise the strong mother of a teenager!!!

Thinking her to be an easy catch,

Asked her the time, telling, "I forgot my watch.."

She shouted out in rage, "Are you kidding me??"

" You have got a phone and you can't see the time!!!"

Embarrassed to the core, he ran,

Clapped at the incident, a passing old man.

Girls aren't helpless after learning self-defence,

With mothers constantly injecting self-confidence.

"Don't be afraid of the dark, anymore,

Possess the mental strength of a true warrior.

Make the society's scum be ashamed forever,

Let the darkness shiver with fear.."

Notorious brutes in pseudo-armours shed a frustrated tear,

As damsels in distress exist no more!!!
