Mine Own War
Mine Own War
I fell down the abyss,
Searching for a certain somebody
I Dove further down, through the water,
I saw fishes, whales, and sharks,
I dove further looking for my love,
I saw a wooden Man'O War, swallowed by the time,
I dove further, hoping to find her whom I longed for,
My lungs reached their capacity, Soon I found an air gap,
I rushed to it, but there stood a difficult decision,
To Destroy a work of art or, to breathe, and live long enough to make one,
I chose the latter, dove further,
By now, I had become something else and rather a shell of my early being,
I met a mermaid, She asked, "Art thee sure, yond thee wanteth to wend deeper?",
I replied"Aye, I doth wanteth to,
So I dove further,
I could feel my ribs shudder, ear pressurize,
I dove further hoping to get a hint of her,
There I Caught A glimpse of her,
Looking as beautiful as her soul may be,
I paddled down faster to catch her,
I reached to the bottom,
Held her by her hand, and dove up
I could feel other creatures congratulate me,
I surfaced,
I took her with me,
But when we were to marry,
I went out to Invite my friends,
They asked for her to meet them,
But then, tragedy struck
They all went blind and could neither see me nor hear,
They did hear me, I am assured
But, Not even the doctor could see her
Then I lay down on my bed,
The next time I woke up,
I was in a coffin, With my beloved Besides me, no one could see
Then we were laid to peace,
As she always said,
"Take me to a place far away, where no one sees, where no one lives"
We were together finally, in the eyes of the world
At peace, even death did not do us part
