MIND YOUR BUSINESS!
MIND YOUR BUSINESS!
Worked for forty years; it is time to retire and take time off
Papers received; annual pension detailed; a very big relief!
Going through my post I found one bus pass for me to travel
Great offer to travel nationwide without spending a penny?
Stopped driving a car, sent an application and got my pass!
Very excited, tried to use my free pass and make a bus trip.
Bus stop is near my home and I waited for Number five bus
Crowd waiting, I was able to join the line as the last person.
Bus arrived and people were boarding the bus one by one
No bus number seen'; broken nameplate? Sent for repair?
When I asked bus driver; 'Right bus to town?' and complained.
He was abrupt and said 'It's reported to the officer concerned.
'That's no good' I said; he retorted 'Mind your business!'
My business! Your business; it is everyone's civil duty?
When you see something happening in any public place;
Property damaged, rules broken, sexual abuse or a crime!
This is our solemn duty as guardians of our democracy
We must think and do something to correct this at once.
When you see a crime scene; misbehaviour or an abuse
The people anywhere have a responsibility and duty too!
Citizens in any country must be loyal and do their duties
We must uphold democracy, fraternity and human rights,
Safe shelter, food, human rights, health and social care,
Jobs, progress, mutual trust, co-existence and friendship.
We all must get united to work for social uplift of all people
More development, steady progress and national harmony;
Safeguarding resources and preventing poverty and diseases
We want welfare states for future generations to flourish?
PUBLIC LIFE! YOUR DUTY!
