Mera Bharat
Mera Bharat
O My Bharat !
Land of my birth,
You're my mother,
I owe this life to you.
Only hope in this darkness.
Stream of bliss
In this hell of wilderness.
You're Goddess, all powerful,
Kind, and so peaceful.
O My Mother !
Small and ignorant,
Though am I,
I'm your child insolent,
Haughty and arrogant,
That often goes wild,
Yet, you always hold
A niche in that heart,
Which chants your name,
And sings your fame.
O My Bharat !
Land of my birth,
Yours is all that's mine.
My likes and dislikes
My love and hate
My life and death,
My health and breath,
My beginning and end.
In fact, yours is all
That I call mine.
You're not just a chunk of land
Dry, barren and dead.
But for me you're living
Full of life, full of blisss.
You're Creator's own home,
His beloved city, His town.
Land of Rama,
Krishna and Gautama
Who have been beaconing
Millions for ages.
O My Bharat !
Land of sages
That walked this earth for ages,
Guiding millions,
On the path of enlightenment.
I pray to you
To bless me with your love
That I may make a sacrifice
That's worthwhile
And of some use.
