Love -lost !

When I tried to sing 

My own voice gave me a sting!

Felt I, no charm there was 

In a voice so hoarse and dry 

That the music and the tune spoiled 

So I tried to peep in my mind 

A mask of happiness though I’d worn

I knew sad I was and forlorn!

My Love left me desperate and lone

Denied all, we’d together sworn!

My world fell apart in chimes 

Tears gathered at unexpected times 

The full moon above in the sky 

Laughed and mocked at my cry 

“What is life ?” I asked the birds

Who sang all day and happily chirped 

Is it a game of breaking hearts? 

“ What is freedom “ again I asked 

Wool as in sweater muffled 

“Am I free, who am in Love entangled ?”

“ Can a solution one find 

to camouflage the wounds of the mind ?”

Outwardly decent, happy, and smiling 

Inside desperately to death inviting 

Though Love -lost, better love and die 

Then wait for it lifelong and then sigh!
