Love In Retrospect
Love In Retrospect
Forever bound to that path,
Lost, broken, promises forgotten
Like a sacred lake dried
A long long time ago.
We were there, you and me
In a world now non-existent
Like things that went downhill,
Like the fallen grace of angels.
I look down on you
And I don’t know why.
I still do.
But the scar of humanity
Is much bigger than this.
Than our broken hearts,
Than our world falling apart.
I know you’re too proud to care,
And so is the devil.
Ain’t that some coincidence?
Fallen angel mimics the devil.
But, why do I care still?
Maybe because a poet’s heart never dies
Even if his muse cease to exist.
But, can there be poetry without a happy heart?
It seems, there could be.
Because a broken heart is still a heart
With a billion feelings tearing it apart.
