Looking At The Moon

Looking At The Moon

Years ago a lonely child

Looked up to the moon and smiled

The secrets and marvels it might have held

A world beautiful, yet to be unveiled

A silent prayer escaped her lips

For a friend, a protector

To remain her guide, her sole anchor

When empty questions did plague her

Years later, she looked up again

Tears cascading down reddened cheeks

He still glowed, serene and calm

A soothing reassurance in her alarm

They walked together arm in arm

Two pairs of eyes weaving a shared dream

He sang to her under a moonlit night

His bright, brilliance in tune with her delight

Her little angel cooed in her embrace

On his restless nights, she pointed to a face

A pleasant radiance beaming by the stars

To guide him when she may be too far

She sang him songs of love and joy

Promises of hope, darkness and light

When things go wrong and its hard to stay strong

Look up and remember, cold nights do not last too long
