Little red flowers

Little red flowers

As I plucked the little red flowers

from the corner of this garden

I recalled a moment,

the memories of which found its way,

through this garden.

I remembered the day,

when I first met you here.

It was when our friends, you and I

hanged around, while talking.

When you and me would

Just stare and smile,

When you and I were

Strangers under this sky.

You were a quite person,

and I, I was a non-stop radio.

You were a chai-person,

and I was a coffee one.

That often reminded me

Of the law,

The opposites attract!

With time, things changed.

Both, the good and the bad

started bothering us,

filling us with expectations,

that compelled us to change.

You started ordering cold coffee for yourself,

and I started consuming tea.

We realized our feelings,

but didn't try to confess,

because something felt missing.

Maybe, it was a strong friendship,

Or maybe, it was the fear of losing

what we shared.

And then one day,

you took my hand in yours,

leaving me confused,

but then,

the moment I looked into your eyes,

they said the unsaid.

And I happily told you,

that all I wish is to see you happy and safe.

You then plucked a little red flower and said,

"You're amazing,

We're amazing.

Let's just keep it this way,

Neither more nor less than this,

Because I don't know if I'll keep you happy

and I'm scared of ruining things."

With time, things became much better

and as our bond grew stronger,

our fears vanished.

It's been two years since we've been

happily married,

and ten years of our relationship.

Today, on our 10th-Anniversary,

we'll relive that love life and

Promise to work upon us more.

Today, I'll make a bouquet of these flowers

and I'll propose you once again.

Recalling days, when you used to put these

flowers in my tangled hair, on those windy

days.

Today we'll eliminate all those fears

that kept us apart & created distance.

We won't allow each other to sow

the seed of self-doubt anymore.

So today, once again,

"I'll be plucking flowers from the corner of our garden and I'll be tugging a handful of memories from my heart!"
