Was born on 2 October 1869

In his childhood, greatly influenced by thoughts of divine

Inculcated in himself the ethics of honesty

Bapu lived his life with simplicity

Chose the path of truth

All the virtues he instilled since age of youth

Made these ethics his ideals

And made those all his principles

By profession he was a barrister

Matchless was his character

In 1888, went to London to learn the law

The discrimination between whites and colored people he saw

Went to South Africa in 1893

Fought with white rulers for their racist policy

Taught the entire of the world

From, South Africa he returned

Saw the British Torturing Indian citizens

Saw and went against with this situation

With truth and non-violence

With all Indians showed passive resistance and non-violent disobedience

The British products were opposed

With his charkha, he made khadi clothes

Withdrew the non-cooperation movement, was sent to jail

But this patriotism, that made him prevail

To fight for civil rights

And discrimination between Indians and whites

Walked all the way to Dandi, for the salt march

In the land of Kutch

Launched the Quit India Movement in 1942

Prison he was sent into

Travelled to parts of India, to spread the message of peace

The influence of British was ceased

The barrister passed away in1948

Gandhi Memorial was built in his commemorate
