Was born on 2 October 1869
In his childhood, greatly influenced by thoughts of divine
Inculcated in himself the ethics of honesty
Bapu lived his life with simplicity
Chose the path of truth
All the virtues he instilled since age of youth
Made these ethics his ideals
And made those all his principles
By profession he was a barrister
Matchless was his character
In 1888, went to London to learn the law
The discrimination between whites and colored people he saw
Went to South Africa in 1893
Fought with white rulers for their racist policy
Taught the entire of the world
From, South Africa he returned
Saw the British Torturing Indian citizens
Saw and went against with this situation
With truth and non-violence
With all Indians showed passive resistance and non-violent disobedience
The British products were opposed
With his charkha, he made khadi clothes
Withdrew the non-cooperation movement, was sent to jail
But this patriotism, that made him prevail
To fight for civil rights
And discrimination between Indians and whites
Walked all the way to Dandi, for the salt march
In the land of Kutch
Launched the Quit India Movement in 1942
Prison he was sent into
Travelled to parts of India, to spread the message of peace
The influence of British was ceased
The barrister passed away in1948
Gandhi Memorial was built in his commemorate
