Life In My City
Life In My City
Starting my day
With an early morning stroll,
Feeling a cool breeze,
Chirpy birds sing,
Touching my soul,
But I almost miss a step and roll
When there is a pothole,
In the middle of the road where I stroll.
Life begins to buzz,
When vehicles wheeze past me,
Where I trudge,
Bumping into folks,
These are the early workforce.
By Noon, past Noon,
Utter chaos rules the roost.
Confusion confounding,
Belles demanding,
Vehicles honking,
Beating the trumpets,
Proving their superiority.
Whether inside your den, or
Outside on roads,
Noise at its peak, adding to pollution.
Vehicular smoke, darkening the sky,
We name it smog,
For we are good at that.
The haggling with the hawkers,
In an age-old issue,
Littering, the garbage are our birthright,
But save trees, logo,
Save a piece of tissue paper,
We demand,
No felling of trees,
Yet I love my city,
Ask me why.
When in trouble, We are one.
United we stand,
Caring and sharing is our way of Life.
At the end of the day,
Keeping problems at bay,
A sound sleep I get.
