Leaf
Leaf
Does the life of a leaf end when it falls?
Or does she have another task waiting for her in the shadows?
She lives her life for the tree, still lush and green, losing a part of herself turning pale,
All her life she longed for the affection she deserves
But in her last days, she waits and watches, ruminating her tale.
What’s on her mind, what does she hope to achieve?
She left the tree falling from the brink, soiled with the lifeless ink.
Her t
ale with her companions is coming to an end still she holds on to her friends,
What’s on her mind, what does she hope to achieve?
Was she so desperate to be set free,
Or was it the fight with the winds, when it failed to hear her plea.
What’s on her mind, what does she hope to achieve?
Maybe a little love and affection was what she yearned for,
Now, there’s no way to know, for the leaf is lost and long gone,
But, does the life of a leaf end when it falls?
