It's Ruled By Us
It's Ruled By Us
This Democracy, they say, is ruled by the crowd,
But money's the king, and it's speaking loud.
Votes sold for trinkets, bought without thought,
Many unsure where their vote should be sought.
Politicians, skilled in their sly little games,
Each one more cunning, each one with aims.
Knowing when to win and when to pretend,
They stretch their deceit right to the end.
Innocent people, often beguiled,
Some see the truth, but many are riled.
Yet voting is a right we must defend,
No matter who rises, or what they intend.
From top to bottom, the system's in strife,
How can one good leader change every life?
