I Searched for U

I Searched for U

I searched for You in the world outside—
Yet, I could not find You.

I wandered through temples,
Still, You remained beyond my reach.

I bathed in sacred waters,
Seeking Your presence—
But You did not appear.

I immersed myself in countless books,
Trying to understand You—
Yet, You remained a mystery.

Someone told me,
"If you change your religion,
You will find Him."

Only my religious identity changed—
You did not.

I surrendered at the feet of many gurus,
Yet somehow,
You never entered the depths of my heart.
Instead,
You hid Yourself from me.

Yet at times,
I glimpse You—

In the smile of a child,
In the melody of music,
In the laughter of the poor,
In hands stretched out to help,
In the blessings of elders,
In the wisdom of the righteous,
And in the breathtaking grandeur of nature.

But those fleeting glimpses
Are no longer enough.

You shower me with illusions,
Then stand hidden,
Watching this mysterious drama unfold—
A secret
Known only to You and me.

O Supreme Wisdom,
Who dwells
Within my body,
Within my life,
Within every atom,
Within my very soul—

More compassionate
Than a mother's love,

O Lord of the boundless universe,

By Your grace alone,
This little life
Continues to exist
In this vast creation,
Breathing
The very breath
That belongs to You.

Enough of hiding.

O Divine Mother
Who dwells within me,

Fill my consciousness
With Your presence.

Let me sing only Your praise,
Drink the inexhaustible nectar
Of bliss,
And take refuge
At Your sacred feet.

Grant me that one blessing—
That alone is enough
For me,
Your child.
