It remained with me
When things were not right
Kept me afloat
When doubt made me sink
It lent a crutch to my crippled soul
When I was sneered
And pushed to the side by peers
During times of hurt and anguish
It lurked and smiled
Behind intimidating dark clouds
To put me at ease
And help stand in good stead
It stood by me rock solid
Saved me from tentacles of life's weed
Taught me to drape my lips
Always with a smile sans reason
With its patronage
Hardship came and went like a short season
With HOPE by my side
My yearnings to bloom again again
Were attained with gusto and pride.
