I Don’t Love Cats
I Don’t Love Cats
It’s not that I love cats
But the cat next door
Looks at me every morn
Lovelorn
It’s a stray
That came from far away
A distant land
I once knew
Perhaps we were friends
In that remote land
Perhaps we shared a meal
Of fish and chips, and tasty eel
When she soaks in the sunshine
She tucks her tail in - divine
And lets loose her paws
Hanging - what a sense of belonging!
Today she’s not looking at me
I don’t know why
Today she’s lost in a deep thought
About the land she left and the fish
We caught!
I still don’t love cats!
