Hope
Hope
A story of a girl
Royal by blood,
A heart of a fighter,
But a crown to hold still.
She was delicately protected
In a tower so high,
All she wanted was in life
Was to touch the sky.
A dream to be free,
A thought to be bold.
But the dear Princess
had nowhere to go.
As the years passed
So did her dreams
She thought it would be impossible
So she stopped trying to succeed.
Succumbed to the expectations
Her smile was still pretty
But it didn’t reach her eyes
Her blue orbs were still beautiful
But never glinted with the same light.
Soon she was Queen
With a kingdom to rule
All she did,
Was buy the books.

The way she spoke, the way she sat
Everything was taught the way it should
Now she held a baby
With big blue eyes
Filled with mischief and delight.
A wonderful combination
For a girl so bright
The Queen regretted her decision
Of losing hope since
Thinking and dreaming of how things
Could have been
She knew what she had to do
She couldn’t back down
A life she dreamed of
As a child
She took her daughter
As midnight struck
With food and water
Just as much
Filled her boat with what she had
Then took her daughter
On her lap
Sat down herself and set sail
Not before whispering
Never lose hope,
“My Dear”.
