My dear little angel, tonight I want you to sleep in my embrace,

I wish for love to caress your tiny existence with magnanimity and grace.

It’s so incredulously amazing that you, who is born of me, are my child -

You are fresh like a clear river stream, magnificent like a fantasy that’s gone too wild.

Tonight as I mull over questions of life and existence,

A serene feeling of absolute tranquility dawns on me in your presence.

I look at your cherubic countenance and realize that live goes on,

People age and go far away to another realm as angels like you are born.

While we can be fatigued and dejected on some harrowing days,

Life moves on and in the contours of good and bad times finds it ways.

You, my child, my angel, have a full life to live - 

Be kind, be gentle, dream big and most importantly learn to give

Give back to existence for you have received in abundance,

Be a person of mettle and a man of substance
