He And She

She was old and the guy was young,

Their story had just begun,

He just couldn't resist the love,

Still they were friends, having fun.

They fell in love in quite a while,

And ended up confessing to each other,

Living happily the life they had,

Knowing the fact that it won't last longer.

I hope they were born in some fairyland

Where the bride isn't always expected to be younger than the groom,

Alas! Such places don't exist

But in my dreams, I always let such fairylands bloom.

But as time passed by, things got messed,

She started questioning her decision every day,

So did the guy feel somewhere uneasy,

As it all reflected back in every way.

Her family started to doubt a bit,

As a sudden change in behaviour gave away hints,

She had started to enjoy life to the fullest,

With a feeling of guilt and love's tint.

She did never want to hurt anyone,

But nothing was really in her hand,

It was hard to choose the right thing,

And yet make the guy understand.

One day she went up to her mother,

And talked about this with tears in her eyes,

Which ended up with just one option left,

To take back the promises and forget the night.

The guy could understand the phase she went through,

And keeping aside his pain he greeted with a grin,

Little did the girl know,

It was indeed nobody's win.

But they promised not to cause anyone's heart to break,

Not to end it with love's sad death,

That day they promised each other,

To stay friends till the last of their breath.

For now, the friendship still exists amongst,

And it's all about immense love and care,

With both of them being miles apart,

They still miss each other everywhere.
