Haven..
Haven..
The winds blew
Cold and bitter
Ruthless and savage
Destroying all in its wrath ...
And amongst that chaos
Was a corner
Lit by a small fire
Spreading its warmth and hope ...
And around that fire
Sat a lady
Trying not to tremble
Against the cold all around....
She heard footsteps
And froze
Afraid she would be driven away
Or attacked by humans
As ruthless as the roaring winds ...
A shadow loomed over
Staying there, over her
Dominant and profound...
Hesitantly, she looked up
Startled to see a boy
Whose eyes mirrored her fear...
She smiled; a little
And shifted to the side
The boy huddled down
Slow and cautious....
Together they sat
The fear slowly ebbed away
The silence as comforting as the warmth...
And so they sat
The warmth radiating around
Comforting two homeless souls ...
And just like that
In a world of chaos
Two people had found their haven.
