Grey
Grey
Silence
Dark doom
Gloom
No space to bloom
Voices and Voids
Tremors and trenches
Cracks and crevices
In the constricting room
Of my unending brain.
It's dingy
Dimly lit
Rattling noise
Of chains I feel.
I see unyielding steel bars
One held captive
Only a formless face
One without expressions
But I make out
It's in agony.
A lashing whip
Races towards it
Wrapping dreams and hopes
And striking it all down
In one go.
I tremble
A smile?
Pasted on my exterior .
But darkness and depression
Hound my interior.
I falter
To stand afoot
No roots
Crumbling pillars
Grumbling expectations ,
I am exhausted
Of the grey
Of the bland
Of the disgust
Of the fear
Mounting for myself.
