Praying hands, glued together...


Tiny pajamas shaking,

Beneath rainbow patterned covers,

Her heart is quaking,

Breaking...


They won’t see me this time,

She prays, she hopes,

Tense jaw, aching.

Those monsters,

Befriending my mother...

Though she knows they will.
