Goodbye
Goodbye
I was a great tree so full of life, so sure and firm
I felt like the owner of the soil where I was born and raised,
With my strong roots, branches and stems and my green leaves
With beautiful flowers that enhanced my condition as a tree.
The seeds that fell from my huge body, onto the ground
Fertile the forest where she lived with her bud, they bore witness,.
Of how powerful it was and that it would not extinguish me
But not all stories have a happy ending.
One summer morning I was awakened by the noises of trucks and machines
They came for me, all my beauty, all my greenery was useless at the time,
The shadow that the protruding segments of my body gave around
Or the oxygen that my existence provided to the lungs of those,
They were destroying me without caring.
They swept away everything without leaving anything of my kind in the whole forest,
They destroyed my little sprouts and everything in their path until they reached me,
Huge drops fell from my leaves, they thought it was accumulated water from past rains, you didn't understand that her cuts hurt and that I was crying.
I suffered so much in my farewell to this life that the sap emanating from stems and segments,
It was nothing more than green blood that came out of my veins.
Piece by piece they cut me down and completely destroyed the forest.
Today perhaps no one remembers that I was there in that forest or not
But those who still remember me have already got used to living in my absence.
Goodbye green forest, goodbye blue sky, goodbye to those who took refuge
Under my shade and enjoyed the beauty of my flowers in spring,
And goodbye to those couples who hide behind me while playing hide and seek,
In short, goodbye to all those that I made happy with my existence.
