A Student's Plight

A Student's Plight

I am a student facing brutal waves of pandemics,

Who wishes the world knew its effect on Academics.

All-day I sit like a mere spectator,

In front of a small screen or a projector.

The teacher joins the virtual meet,

I have even forgotten how to greet!

The day begins without a school bell,

Connectivity at times does play hell.

Somehow, I stare at the clock above my head,

Staring haplessly at the muted screens ahead.

The lecture ends with assignments in the line,

It seems as if we gonna study till time to dine.

Then a break of minutes five or ten,

Takes me to London's Big Ben.

I rush to pee and then grab a bite,

Not much to my mother's delight!

Then the saga of lectures go on,

During which, the patient teacher snaps on.

For a few kids in between take a nap,

While some in between continue to rap.

A handful of us do wish to learn,

Forgetting how badly our immature eyes burn.

A bunch of us drop in and out

Alas! We can't completely log out!

Glued to the screens for hours at stretch,

May we, some fresh air, go out and fetch.

Virtual games and augmented reality,

Have blatantly come with their own liberty.

What about the pats on my back?

My teacher gave me for my knack.

The era of the Internet has bloomed on us,

Connecting every soul, without much fuss.

However, never before the moment "Now",

Have I found people saying so casually "Ciao"?

Never before did I see such a casual attitude,

Alike, a share, few comments - Is our job done by it, dude?

Often I ponder over such dilemmas,

And annoy my rookie school fellas.

They say, "Chill ! Relax! It isn't doomsday".

Why don't you keep your contemplations at bay?

Alas! All my prayers end the same way,

"God, help me get out of this dismay !"
