Goodbye Girlhood

She looked into her eyes,

They were shining bright,

Her cheek was flushed,

And her smile was full of might.

The picture was ages old,

But she was still young,

She was a child back then,

But now from within, she had withered.

She used to run all around her house back then,

Radiating positive vibrations towards everyone,

With innocent smiles and glowing eyes,

Everyone called her a childish soul.

Now, she didn't know if she was enough mature,

But her back ached at times,

And her smiles were fake,

But now no one but she missed her old self.

Working 9 to 5,

She had indulged her every bone into work,

Sleepless nights and early mornings were a routine,

She realised she killed a small girl within herself,

And thought that only then she could be a woman...
