God's Omnipresence
God's Omnipresence
Anything true always strikes
A responsive chord in me
For which I am deeply thankful;
Thankful because I realize
That it is not me but You
Who causes my being to quiver:
For You are always present
In the hearts of even those
Who scorn to take Your Name -
The invisible principle
Guiding them on in
Whatever task they attempt.
Until maybe, aeons later,
The scales fall from their eyes
And they understand what it was
That supported them
Through all the past ages...
Through all their successes
And through all their failures -
Through all their ups and downs.
What it was that made them
Alternately hope and despair,
And in the name of which
They unknowingly sought for
The origin of that impulse
Which always made them seek
The best within themselves
And in everything around them.
Truly, You live in all...
Undoubtedly in those who sense You exist
But the greater miracle is
That You guide even the blind who disbelieve!
