Gender Inclusion

Dark clouds blanket the tapestry of the sky,

Loud pattering of rain, makes me shiver and sigh!

Cosily in my balcony, I introspect and stare;

At the interiors of a coaching institute, so cold and bare.

The shutters were suddenly clanged shut by a man;

A maths or a science teacher, I mused;

Leaning forward to peer as much as I can.

Why are maths and science taught usually by males?

Is this a gender prejudice against the females?

Why do certain skills and jobs commend Adam's brains?

Why is the hearth and fire Eve's domain?

Oh! these stereotypes are remnants of past,

I admonished myself, times are changing fast.

Suddenly, a loud slap rings the air;

My maid comes fore,

Drenched, beaten and bare.

I smoulder with indignation and rage;

Domestic violence yet prevails in this age!

Exploitation!

Discrimination!

Why are women yet subjected to humiliation?

Why can't we stand up and build an inclusive nation?

Women do ride now, rock and fly!

Don't men down the fashion ramp too walk by?

Countries and corporates are being run well by dynamic women.

Accepting gender inequality is an unpardonable sin;

For sustainable growth and development, we must all stand strong;

To meet the challenges of any adversity head-on.

Let us strive for an inclusive nation that respects its each citizen that dwells;

And doesn't give up on anyone, who has not given up on themselves.
