Frigid

Frigid

The winter had been really cold all these years, but now,

It feels a lot more frigid. As though,

All emotions, all of the warmth

Has completely faded away, without a trace,

As though, it had never even existed at all.

The hot streaks of tears, coating the puffed cheeks,

Reddened with anger and frustration

Now seem to have frozen and somehow,

They have lost their way, not finding it in themselves

To just escape through the eyes.

Those once expressive eyes, blazing with emotions

Seem icy cold now. Frozen over the course of all these winters,

They have turned steely cold now.

It's as though, souls have become glacial now,

No feelings, no sunrays of hope, no gentle breezes of affection,

To keep them akin to life.

Time's gone by, and unfortunately, it hasn't really healed,

If anything, it's only made the winters harsher, bitter

And wounds, deeper.
