Many years ago our country was freed

All our freedom fighters fought with bravery

We are free and independent like a bird

From the hundred years long injustice and slavery

The precedent is now ours and we are a democracy

We solve various matters and disruption

But slowly people have become addicted to money

Are we really free from the rampant corruption?

People have started celebrating festivals with peace

Our law treats everyone with equality

But still today some people don’t get food to eat

Are we really free from the massive poverty?

Everyone began sharing the feeling of brotherhood

We adopted the policy of secularism

But still there is now a division among people

Are we really free from the invisible caste-ism?

Our economy is one of the largest in the world

We work to earn money for enjoyment

But some of the youngsters are still jobless

Are we really free from the increasing unemployment?

A movement has started to empower women

For decades the women retained silence

But still in some parts they are treated unequal

Are we really free from the evil of domestic violence?

Everyone has the right to roam freely anywhere

But some issues block our freedom

We have to rise against all this problems

Until the task is completed and well done
