In the first decade of my life,

I had no worries, no strife,

Days filled with play and fun,

And every moment, a new one.

Days of play and endless fun,

Riding bikes beneath the sun,

Climbing trees, skinning knees,

Building forts with friends with ease.

I didn't care for the world outside,

For me, my little world was my pride,

A world of toys, games, and friends,

A world that I wished never ends.

But as I grew up, things changed,

My priorities were rearranged,

I faced new challenges and fears,

And shed a few innocent tears.

Navigating through the maze,

During adolescence, the awkward phase,

Of crushes, heartbreaks, and first love,

All new emotions to be learnt of.

The world no longer seemed so kind,

And my imagination was confined,

To a world where everything was rosy,

But now the truth felt too cosy.

Looking back, I realize,

That the first decade was so wise,

It taught me to enjoy every moment,

And cherish memories like a potent.

So, here's to childhood, that magical time,

A time of wonder, a time sublime,

For those ten years that shaped my life,

Will always be a treasure, a source of light.
