Festival Of Light

The sound of crackers,

Shakes one wide awake,

The house in all its décor,

Welcomes brightly the day break.

Some say,

Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya, it marks,

After fourteen years of exile,

The end of which, brought many a smile.

Others say,

The defeat of Narakasura, it marks,

Won through Lord Krishna's might,

Making this the festival of Light.

These are two legendary stories,

Whichever you choose,

This Diwali, laugh, play and pray,

Think good; do good; never go astray.
