UNHEARD

UNHEARD 

Scared and trembled forging ahead 

The thought of being killed , filled with dread

Waiting to take my first step on earth 

Fragile emotions trapped without mirth 

Overjoyed to be in your arms

The ethereal love of a mother without terms 

Will learn to walk , holding father's finger 

Falling at times being eager 

But there lies an unspoken sphere

Thriving being hidden here 

She's the creator on earth

Her incarnation has no worth 

Maa Durga is an epitome of strength

But the birth of a girl child is a wrath 

What if they know it's me ? 

Will they let me live without plea ?

There's hatred for a daughter

People are ready for her slaughter 

Women are worshiped in the sacred temple

But their never ending misery is ample 

Begging to let me enter this world 

And experience how things unfold

Conveying these unheard voices inside the womb 

Mom , are you listening being numb ?
