Eternal hope
Eternal hope
Even in the throes of a pandemic,
I see the world through the eyes of an aesthetic.
I see the the afflicted struggle to live,
I see the generous bystander’s will to give.
I see many struggling for breath,
I see many defying death.
I see unscrupulous making money,
I see bighearted working for the country.
I see the selfless touch of our health workers,
I see the desolation of our daily wage earners.
I see untiring efforts of our doctors,
I see the cacophony of television reporters.
I see the world through the coloured glasses,
I see we are the victims of unfavourable circumstances.
I see God has thrown us a curve ball,
I see united for a cause, a hope for all.
I see a world beautiful on the other side,
I see the surviving give each other a look of pride,
I see the Earth and the flowering blossoms,
I see the birth of a new autumn.
