Do Not Try To Break Me

Do not try to break me.

It's not that I am unbreakable.

I have been broken in the past,

And still might break,

But, now, I very well know

How to pick those pieces,

And put them together.

In the past, it has not been easy for me,

I have been tossed,

Pushed into an endless turmoil,

With my own emotions,

A struggle of misunderstanding,

With my own people,

But, I have overcome them,

Always, for I have always believed in

Battling demons, rather than,

Surrendering to them.

I have swum across tempestuous oceans,

Where nothing but dark

Had surrounded me, where,

No matter how hard I tried,

I could not catch even a glimpse of light,

But, never did I lose the hope,

The will to be victorious,

No matter, how many bruises

I endured all the while.

The light in my mind,

Never lets me surrender,

To give in to, what had been deemed upon,

Devastating me, breaking me.

And even while I might break,

My broken pieces will only emanate

That inner light, which shall never fade away.
