Day 10 - Mother

Teacher! ‘ mother a common or proper noun”

Asked the six-year-old in the class

Before teacher comes with her explanation

Said another one with expression solemn

“If your own proper, other’s then, common”

Puzzled look and wonder in voice

‘And why so?’ teacher rejoins

“proper is important, distinguished

And common well! It’s common like everyone the same.”

“well, he hasn’t yet learned the abstract one.” The teacher thought

Don’t we all feel her around us

Even when miles apart

All our untold pains and ache

With uncanny precision, she guesses

And why not mother, a verb

Be it physical or emotional

She personifies all the doing words.

Ah! Grammar, literature

Or any topic on the earth

Mother O mother you are the epicenter.
