Danger

Danger

The danger lies,

Where truths are denied,

When secrets are spilled,

And in contempt held;

When victims are shamed,

Mocked and betrayed.

The endangered are,

The daughters we scar,

By letting them see,

They won't be believed;

And if they lay themselves bare,

No one will care.

The dangerous ones,

Are all around us;

Cutting us deep,

For our voices they reap;

Leaving us mute-

So we can't speak the truth.
