Corruption

In shadowed rooms where secrets lie,

A legend of darkness, I'll imply,

Of corruption's grasp, a world awry,

Prepare your soul, for tears may dry.

Innocence, a tender bloom,

Nurtured by a fortunate room,

But soon, a cloud of blackness looms,

As selfishness consumes, spirit fumes.

The coffers swell with tainted gold,

As power's hunger takes its hold,

A truth untold, a story old,

The cries of justice, left unsold.

The widow weeps, the orphan sighs,

Their pleas for help, ignored, denied,

While puppet masters pull the ties,

Their morals lost, their conscience dies.

Promises made, then swept away,

Like footprints in the sands of gray,

A nation's trust led far astray,

The tears of sorrow, they convey.

In boardrooms hushed, deals concealed,

The truth suppressed, the lies revealed,

The hearts of those once strong, now steeled,

Injustice's grip, a fate unsealed.

But in this darkness, don't despair,

For change can rise from deep despair,

When voices unite, hearts repair,

Corruption's fortress, we can tear.

Let tears be not just signs of woe,

But symbols of the will to grow,

To cleanse the world, let virtues flow,

In unity, our strength will show.

For in our tears, a fire burns,

A hope for justice, it discerns,

Together, we can break these urns,

Of corruption's ashes, let it yearn.

So shed a tear, and let it fall,

For in its midst, a passion's call,

To rise against this tainted thrall,

And cleanse our world, for one and all.
