Colours of the pandemic
Colours of the pandemic
The pandemic came out of the blue
It brought out multiple colours from us, all shades of true
Blue was the colour of Frontline warriors - doctors, nurses, police officers and others
Their days seemed never ending and more challenging than many others
Covered in protective gear from head to toe,
They fought many wars - experienced many highs and lows
Some lost their lives serving others
Most stayed away from their families, battled their inner pain and stress
I salute those who strived to save lives in times of burgeoning distress
Red was the colour of this health crisis,
With many losing their lives to the virus
Lives were lost also for lack of livelihood
As the pandemic shut shops many, across the global neighborhood
The pandemic brought to fore
Shades of grey and green, hidden within our core
Distrust, jealousy and fear stood tall
Distancing us from one and all
The so called weak emerged the strongest
As the virus seeked company of the mightiest
Rumours, hatred and political games had a gala time
As the pandemic showed its might, one wave at a time
White was the color of a select few
Who reached out to others, just because they could
Such people overcame their fears
To spread love and faith among those near
I take inspiration in thee the common man
For extending a helping hand
I also did my tiny bit, to keep alive the human spirit
I reflect on those times with awe and wonder
And feel grateful eventually mankind conquered
As the pandemic becomes endemic
It continues to create tales that will remain epic
