Designations
Designations
I search for my self amid a maze of designations,
I seek pride and respect, through designations,
I work hard day and night to achieve a designation,
I play the games I need to, to achieve a designation.
I assess my skills against a designation,
I seek to control others, through a designation,
I take pride on achieving a designation and yet,
I quickly start seeking a higher designation
I seek higher pleasures through my designation,
I want to feel important, through my designation
I attach myself to a designation
Oh, and then I face the harsh truth
Respect is of the designation, not me
Designations are temporary, just like oh little me,
Strip me away of my designation, and the world will forget me
Designations don't define me, my thoughts and actions do
Designations give me the chance to spread positivity and inspire people, in a way only I can do
As these realisations dawn upon me,
I understand the illusion that designations really are,
As I stop chasing them, I find myself
