"One small step for the pawn and one giant step for the game,"

And that is indeed how we all  too play the same

Be it an indoor board game or an outdoor life's frame

Twists and turns, trials and tribulations hold their sway

Checkmate or Pawned, Stalemate or castled along the way

In chess, the game starts with the smallest pieces, the pawns

Eight of them who sacrifice their life for the King to stay on.

Small insects are eaten by the big insects

Small people are taken for a ride

By the bigger magnets

It's all a game of small fries, big fries bullying and bogging each other

One trying to win over the other or lose to another

"The Chessboard is a battlefield", and Life too is a battle

Challenges are thrown and risks are taken to settle

Caution is thrown to the winds, cudgels raised against or for gain

Pinned or pawned, killed or forked, On the chessboard or on the human terrain

Moves, quirky, cunning straight or angled

Leaves the vulnerable stranded or strangled

The king or the Head is the most important and therefore is the most protected

Likewise here on Planet Earth,

Kingpins and Godfathers, Mafia and Crusaders go unrestricted

They stay in fortified castles and pawn their poor and innocent clergy

The king or the Chief is often safe, because of their mercy.

The Queen, of course, has several moves and ways

Using her charm and position, she sways or slays

The bishops and the Knights the gallant lot, make their moves through the mangled sight

While the Rooks move up and down, side to side making the security very tight.

The stronger moves and clever loops, decide the fate of the Superpowers

The whites or the Blacks, The Rich or Poor, the movers or shakers

"Life is a big Chess Board, and people are the Chess pieces"...

How we handle and move, tackle and groove

Determines our limitations and directions to prove

In this 'Game Of Life', decisions and convictions rule the roost

Someone has to win and some other has to lose, as Chess is our life's fuse.

A Checkmate or a Stalemate leaves us nowhere in the so-called game of life

To learn and improve, helps us be aware to face any kind of strife.
