CHATTERBOX

CHATTERBOX

Chatter, chatter, chatter, chatter.

You could hear her always,

An unstoppable bullet train,

Words spewing out in droves,

Shaming light with its speed.

Chatter, chatter, chatter, mum.

The needle and thread went in,

Out it came with a shattering wail,

Thus the first stitch was made,

Sewing her lips at the distant tail.

Chatter, chatter, mum, mum.

Was the second one better?

Supposed to hurt a bit less?

"It sears, it hurts" she screamed

As her skin broke along with her,

Chatter, mum, mum, mum.

The pain was more anticipated now.

The world revolved as she dissolved,

Through the tiny gap words leaked,

Like a leaky faucet, forgotten to be fixed.

Mum, mum, mum, mum.

The silence sometimes deafened her,

She longed to kill it but couldn't,

Lips tightly pursed she watched,

The world who killed her voice.
