Candle March
Candle March
Is Candle March enough?
Is Candle March enough my heart surges with anger?
In a country that is hailed as a living place of God,
We pretend to worship women as Goddess.
In the name of dowry, we kill her
In the name of honour killing
We loot everything from her.
She becomes our prey even in the womb of a mother
Where she is trampled to not see the sun on earth.
Yes, we are assassins,
We are tyrants,
We are cowards.
Yes, we forget woman is our mother,
Woman is our sister, woman is our friend.
Before the invisible, puissant God
Gives condign punishment to the rapists, murderers and wrongdoers,
Let's stop this melodrama,
Lets not only do candle march,
Let's take law its action not making so delay without any farce,
Let the government change the rule,
Let it be at the sternest best
To grant punishment in a way
The evildoers will even retreat in fear.
Yes, the law should remove the black cloth from its eyes
To give the hardest punishment, to give justice for the irreparable loss.
We have to change,
We have to change,
We have to give equal rights to women to breathe and live like us,
Proving again that we live in the greatest country where
God is an inhabitant.
