Blue Christmas

Blue Christmas

251

In the stillness of the winter night,

Where snowflakes dance in soft moonlight,

A world adorned in icy hues,

A tale unfolds, a soul pursues.

Beneath the ebon sky's embrace,

A melancholy, somber grace,

Lies dormant in the chilled air,

A whispered longing, deep despair.

A solitary figure stands,

Amidst the frosty, quiet lands,

With memories that haunt the mind,

A melody of love declined.

The echoes of a bygone year,

Of laughter shared, of joy sincere,

Now linger in the silent air,

A wistful breeze that chills, unfair.

Beneath the boughs of evergreen,

A sorrowed heart, a muted sheen,

A longing gaze towards the past,

Where happiness could ever last.

In the quiet of the midnight blue,

The heartache wears a colder hue,

As stars above, like teardrops, gleam,

Reflecting in the silent stream.

The ornaments upon the tree,

Each laden with a memory,

A symphony of yesteryears,

Resounds through time in silent tears.

Yet, in the quiet, there's a spark,

A flame that flickers in the dark,

A hope that glimmers, faint but true,

A chance for hearts to mend and strew.

Through winter's grasp, a thaw begins,

As healing whispers through the winds,

The azure tint begins to fade,

As dawn breaks through the night's cascade.

For in the midst of sorrow's grasp,

A resilience, a strength to clasp,

A promise blooms like morning light,

To lift the shadows, end the night.

So, in this season, icy, cold,

Let tales of healing, love unfold,

A blue Christmas may yet transform,

To hues of warmth, a heart reborn.
