That wonderful time of the year

Heavens shower blessing, showers to cheer

Trees get greener, buds open up to flower

Grass soaks in the moisture, skies change color

Earthworms peep from under the soil

Snails yawn and uncoil

Birds chirp a welcoming song

The clouds glad to sing along

Children wait, anxious and carefree

Innocence comes with no fee

The world their playground

Rains or Sun – kids never bound

Puddles, ponds and streams – full of fun

Waterproof toys to be spun

Paper boats set sail, in this mini ocean

Even at sunset – kids are never done!

Joy of childhood engraved within hearts

Adulthood comes with challenges in parts

Memories of those years, never leaves your side

Joy of the rains, one never can hide

Raindrops on my window, pearly droplets to adore

While the fishermen come ashore
