Ball Of Fire
Ball Of Fire

I have searched you thousands of times,
In the early mornings of autumn,
Beside asleep beggar in the cold avenue,
The touch of unconscious wind does not cause tremor,
Anymore in my heart
I am about to forget your scent, my beloved.
During the night in my deserted balcony
Uninvited stars search with their inquisitive eyes.
Your love stained coffee mug is still out there,
Claiming its permanency in the dustbin
It has still some love left for me.
My tired eyes embrace sleep,
And make hundreds of pact with chiefs warriors of unknown battles
And you!
Yes, you!
Suddenly one day came down like an unexpected shower,
My heart was then, like souvenirs of Kolkata, traditional and hazed.
When in the screaming sun rays of the afternoon I got harassed,
While finding you in the compartments of metro rail,
Suddenly I saw some fire engines
In a fire- lit big building with much-needed responsibility
Trying to extinguish the impossible
As I was trying for ages, too
Still, the fire in my heart did not subside.
